She was born on\u00a09 December 1913, exactly 104 years back to\u00a0a\u00a0Parsi\u00a0family in\u00a0Navsari, Gujarat. Her father was a theatre artist and\u00a0her childhood moving from place to place with her father&#8217;s traveling theatre company. She was an alumnus of <a href=\"https:\/\/rtiwala.com\/sachin-tendulkar\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Mumbai University<\/a> (then Bombay University) and Sir J. Homai Vyarawalla began photographing day-to-day life in the city, eventually earning an art school degree and becoming a professional photographer. In 1942, Vyarawalla secured a position at the British Information Services in New Delhi. There, she snapshotted the meeting where <a href=\"https:\/\/rtiwala.com\/aipc-professionals-congress\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Congress members<\/a> voted for the partition of India.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Why Google Doodle for\u00a0Homai Vyarawalla?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Homai Vyarawalla was one of the<a href=\"https:\/\/rtiwala.com\/girija-devi-passes-away\/\" rel=\"noopener\"> first and foremost female<\/a> photojournalists of her time. Her photographs were published under the pseudo name &#8220;Dalda 13&#8221; because of a very valid reason.\u00a0But it was her electric images of India\u2019s independence movement and candid shots of such people as the Dalai Lama, <a href=\"https:\/\/rtiwala.com\/mohandas-karamchand-gandhi-jayanti-reveals\/\">Mohandas K. Vyarawalla is at the center.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Why\u00a0Homai Vyarawalla gave up photography and how she died?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A year after her husband\u2019s death in 1973, Homai Vyarawalla <strong><em>quit photography<\/em><\/strong> and lived alone in Vadodara, Gujarat.
