His father Ashutosh Mookerjee served as a judge in the High Court of Calcutta and mother Jogamaya Devi Mukherjee. He started his schooling from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cc.rti.link\/azd\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bhawanipur\u2019s Mitra Institution<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and later moved on to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Presidency College<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. He opened the first museum of the Indian history, culture, and archaeology in the university and invited international universities to send their students to study the Indian civilization, culture, and Sanskrit.
