RTIwala Explains the Jay Shah Controversy: Congress leaders have taken to streets demanding a probe into the financial transactions of Temple Enterprises, a company owned by BJP chief Amit Shah‘s son, Jay Shah. DCC president N Rajender Reddy, City Congress president K Srinivas Rao, and working president Rajanala Srihari staged demonstrations in Hanamkonda and Warangal in support of their demand. Addressing the gathering at the Hanamkonda crossroads, Rajender Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi government’s policies were benefitting his party men and not the common people. Such out lashes are becoming fierce with every single passing day.

Jay Shah Controversy: What Opposition Says?
The PM should respond to the allegations made against Jay Shah, the congressmen demand. He demanded the setting up of an inquiry commission led by a Supreme Court Judge and the resignation of Amit Shah to the post of BJP national president. The case of Temple Enterprises proves how the BJP leaders amassing wealth, say, Congressmen. A large number of activists led by City Congress Working President staged a dharna in front of the Income Tax Department in Warangal. A memorandum was submitted to the IT officials seeking a probe into alleged irregularities in the company owned by Jay Shah.

The Congress leader wanted the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and BJP Supremo, Amit Shah to explain how the turnover of Temple Enterprises increased by 16,000 times and give details of Rs 51 crore the firm received from foreign countries. The company showed losses in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014. But posted a profit of Rs 18,000 in the financial year 2014-15. This seems completely miraculous. However, its turnover shot up to Rs 80 crore in 2015-16 after the BJP came to power at Centre. The BJP leaders must explain how it could be possible, he demanded.

“The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax Department should have launched a probe to find out what was happening but they failed to do so”, Srihari said. Jay Shah, Amit Shah do owe an explain amidst all the chaos surrounding Jay Shah’s company and its performance.
