Dismissing rumors of her alleged sexual relationship with Gurmeet Ram Rahim, Honeypreet said her relations with the Dera chief are pure and blamed the media for maligning a father-daughter relationship. This is a shocking revelation by her. Honeypreet claimed she was suffering from depression, which was the sole reason for her disappearance. She also said that she was unaware of the legal processes involved.
“After my father’s departure, I became helpless. I did what people guided me to do. I will now go to the Punjab and Haryana High Court. But, it will take me some time to handle my present state of mind,“ said Honeypreet.
Following Ram Rahim’s conviction in the rape cases, he was flown from Panchkula to a Rohtak jail and Honeypreet had accompanied him. She stayed at a guest house in Rohtak on the night of August 25. The next day, August 26, she reached the Dera headquarters in Sirsa where she met Chairperson Vipassana Insan. She stayed at the Dera headquarters for the night and the next morning she left the premises without informing anyone. She could not be found for 38 days.
