What went wrong with Kapil?
If he had gone there, it would have been a homecoming for Kapil. His claim to fame was the earlier season of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. The show recently made a comeback, having on board, Akshay Kumar as the super judge. Mallika Dua, Hussain Dalal and Zakir Khan, who have been raving the online comic scene with their skills acted as mentors on the show. However, they were replaced by Sajid Khan and Shreyas Talpade after the dropping TRPs. Kapil has been on a promotion spree on various television shows. It seemed vindicated that he goes back to the stage where it all took place for him. It was the show that made him, what he is today.
It is reported that Kapil gave a go-ahead last night and the shoot was planned for today. The team waited for quite a while but seeing no trace of Kapil started the acts in the expectation that he could connect later on. His team later informed on the sets that Kapil wasn’t well and it won’t be possible for him to join the shoot. The team has been left disappointed, knowing Kapil’s health concerns and wants him to recover pretty soon.
Kapil gets candid on his health issues
At the trailer launch of Firangi, Kapil had spoken his heart out. He told how difficult life had turned out to be in recent times for him. He had also shared and confessed that he was depressed and developed suicidal tendencies. He gave the credits to his friends who managed to pull him out of it. Talking about how panic attacks got his work to suffer, he told media, “I could not step on the stage to perform and would cancel the shoot. I suffered from anxiety and drank myself silly. I would stay locked up in the office with my pet dog. People stopped coming on the show and I went off the radar.”
The comedy star was recently seen on Bigg Boss 11. He had a gala time interacting with the contestants and host Salman Khan. He looked pretty fine then. He has also shot for a special episode of Super Dancer 2. Firangi, which also stars Ishita Dutta, Monica Gill, Edward Sonnenblick, Rajesh Sharma, Inaamulhaq and Aanjjan Srivastav is slated to release on November 24. We hope The Laughter King recovers really soon.
