Who was Max Born?
Max Born on 11 December 1882 in Breslau, Poland. He was a German physicist and mathematician who was instrumental in the development of quantum mechanics. Max Born is famously known for the Born Rule, a theory that uses probability to predict the location of a particle in a quantum system. That’s important for understanding and using quantum mechanics, the principles that govern physics at subatomic scales. As scientists and academicians rely on quantum physics for all sorts of things, from precise timekeeping to better encryption.

Max Born was an outstanding student physics and mathematics, Born earned his Ph.D. at Göttingen University where he later became a professor of theoretical physics, collaborating with and mentoring some of the most famous scientists of the time. In 1933 he was forced to flee Germany for England, where he served as the Tait Professor of Natural Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh for nearly two decades until his retirement in 1954 when he returned home to Göttingen.
