As per different media sources, Versova police on Wednesday arrested a television actor for allegedly raping a 23-year-old fashion designer after he had been in a live-in relationship with her for the last two months. Actor Piyush Sahdev (35) committed the offense after gaining the victim’s trust and promising to help her shape her modeling and acting career.
What’re the charges against Piyush Sahdev?
The Versova police arrested Sahdev after the victim lodged a complaint on November 20.
The senior police inspector Kiran Kale confirmed Sahdev’s arrest and said he is in police custody until November 2.
“Sahdev has been booked under the Indian Penal Code section 376 (1) (rape),” said Kale.
Sahdev was produced before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Wednesday which further sent him to police custody.
